December 3, 2018 – The sixth-generation Oregonian has experience building and maintaining strong relationships, and will start in the job in August 2019. Until then, Angela Wilhelms remains as interim chief.

Task Force forming to analyze the structure of CAS

Ocotber 17, 2018 - UO Provost and President call for the formation of a diverse group to examine the structure of the College of Arts and Sciences. Senior Divisional Dean Karen Ford will serve as chair of the task force that will be made up of faculty, staff and students.

Academic Misconduct and Academic Extra Benefits involving faculty, student-athletes

October 8, 2018 – The University of Oregon’s Intercollegiate Athletic Advisory Committee issues a reminder to faculty about avoiding academic misconduct and academic extra benefits violations from the NCAA.

Provost taps Bruce Blonigen as interim dean for the University of Oregon’s College of Arts and Sciences

September 24, 2018 – With W. Andrew Marcus stepping down as CAS dean in December, Bruce Blonigen will step in for a two-year period, and humanities divisional dean Karen Ford will become senior divisional dean of the college.

UO hires Carol Gering as Associate Vice Provost for Online and Distance Education

September 19, 2018 – She served for six years as the Executive Director of eLearning and Distance Education at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and will start in the new position on Oct. 29, 2018.

Faculty Salary Increases for FY 2019

September 19, 2018 – Both represented and non-represented tenure-track faculty and career non-tenure-track faculty will see increases in salary in 2019. To receive an increase, faculty members must be appointed to their positions as of Dec. 31, 2018.
