is responsible for carrying out the academic mission of the University of Oregon. In doing so, the office works closely with faculty and staff to enhance academic excellence, student success, and the UO’s overall academic profile.

Led by Provost Patrick C. Phillips, OtP is a dynamic office that leads and manages a variety of initiatives, processes, and services.

Provost's Updates

April 29, 2022 - The Teaching Engagement Program and UO Online shared an update regarding how to apply now to UO Summer Teaching Institute, join improv session, and more.

The provost has released the 2022 Institutional Hiring Plan, which authorizes tenure-track faculty searches. This plan continues the university’s efforts to hire tenure-track faculty who will enhance the UO’s scholarly profile and academic excellence, and who will share our commitment to student success.

Provost and Senior Vice President Patrick Phillips has launched a national search for a new dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, the university's largest academic unit. Keep up with the latest.
