Interim Provost Janet Woodruff-Borden takes a moment to celebrate and recognize the outstanding scholarship, instruction, and service taking place on our campus and tell you about several new ways we are highlighting excellence at the University of Oregon.

May 8, 2023 - The office of the provost provides academic leaders with information such as a request to submit and share the new Academic Freedom survey, a last chance to RSVP to the Closing Achievement Equity Gaps event, and an invite to the Teaching and AI systems panel.

We are delighted to be in a period of growth and have approved about two-thirds of the new searches that were proposed. As of today, this year’s plan authorizes eighty-one tenure-track faculty searches.

May 1, 2023 - The Office of the Provost provides information and resources to faculty including a prompt to apply for a Summer Teaching Institute pathway, an invitation to claim a seat for Duck In, and a reminder about the AI Systems panel.

The HSI Task Force’s final report on how the University of Oregon is becoming a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). The Task Force worked for a year exploring what assets UO has and what challenges it may face in accelerating the process of becoming a HSI.

April 24, 2023 - The office of the provost provides academic leaders with information such as a call for instructors to open classrooms for Duck In, the monthly Leadership Workshop series, and OER funding.

April 17, 2023 - The Office of the Provost provides information and resources to faculty including Duck In, Summer Teaching Institute, and a reminder to report course materials.

April 10, 2023 - The office of the provost provides academic leaders with information such as Duck In, course materials reporting, and a final reminder about Provost Fellows applications.

April 3, 2023 - The Office of the Provost provides information and resources to faculty including Inclusive Teaching at UO, a campus partner event, and exam proctoring updates.
