Carol Stabile named dean of Clark Honors College
Carol has served as interim dean since 2020 and was selected following a national search with input from our incoming Provost and Senior Vice President Chris Long, as well as feedback from faculty, staff, and students at the honors college and others on campus who attended the search events.

Finalists for dean of the business college to visit campus
Finalist candidates for the dean of Lundquist College of Business will be in Eugene in mid-May to meet with campus stakeholders. Finalists will give a public presentation that will take place from 11 a.m. to noon on May 14, 16, 21 and 23 in 125 Chiles or on Zoom.

UO Summer Teaching Institute
This week-long, in-person event brings faculty together from all schools and colleges for inspiration, collegial connection, critical conversations, and creation of new teaching materials. This year, the institute will focus on the rapid rise of Generative Artificial Intelligence as it impacts teaching and learning. Apply by May 22 to be considered for the institute.
Faculty Promotion Celebration
The Office of the Provost will celebrate promoted faculty during spring term on June 10, 2024. Those faculty members who have been promoted will be invited to attend a ceremony at the EMU Redwood Auditorium (Room 214) with an invited guest. Honorees will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks and will be congratulated by UO executives and academic leaders.
Finalists for Clark Honors College dean search visit campus
Up to four finalist candidates in the Clark Honors College dean search will be in Eugene between May 2 and May 10 to meet with University of Oregon stakeholders. Zoom links for virtual participation will be shared on the provost’s website the week of April 29.
Grant Schoonover named Interim Vice Provost for UESS
Interim Provost Karen Ford announces that Grant Schoonover will serve as the interim vice provost for undergraduate education and student success as Kimberly Johnson prepares to depart at the end of the academic year.
Chris Long named UO provost and senior vice president
President Karl Scholz announces that Christopher P. Long, dean of the College of Arts & Letters and the Honors College at Michigan State University (MSU) and professor of philosophy and MSU Research Foundation Professor, will join the University of Oregon as provost and senior vice president.
Jennifer Reynolds named interim dean of UO School of Law
Interim Provost Karen Ford announces that Jennifer Reynolds, the Orlando John and Marian H. Hollis Professor of Law, has agreed to serve as interim dean of the University of Oregon School of Law starting April 15 as Dean Marcilynn Burke prepares to depart at the end of the academic year.
