School of Law
Founded in 1884, the University of Oregon School of Law (“the Law School”) was the state’s first and continues to be the state’s only public law school. Its main campus is in Eugene, and it has a satellite campus in Portland, the state’s largest city. Oregon Law’s mission is to train legal professionals to create change in a complex and diverse society. As an ABA-accredited law school at an AAU research university, Oregon Law is distinctly situated to provide its students with a world-class education. It is nationally recognized for its top-ranked programs and distinguished faculty.
Position
This position is based in Eugene. Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President, the Dean of the School of Law is the Chief Academic and Administrative Officer for the School and is responsible for developing and implementing academic strategies; recruiting and retaining faculty, students, and staff; and managing organizational and financial structures that promote excellence in research, scholarship, creative practice, and education. The Dean will work with University administration, faculty, alumni and other internal and external leaders to promote the national and international visibility of the Law School and to ensure that resources align with its strategic objectives and potential. The Dean is a member of the Provost’s Deans Council and Academic Leadership Team.
