We would like to share updates and clarifications relevant to faculty reviews and promotions: 

• Conflicts of interest updated guidance in external review letters. 
• Review period guidance chart for promotion is linked to from this web page. 
• Personnel committee voting eligibility and vote tabulation: document all abstentions and make sure your vote tallies accurately reflect the reports you have received. 
• Faculty on department personnel committees may also participate in eligible faculty vote unless the unit policy disallows this.  Faculty on college or university personnel committees should only vote at the lowest level and recuse themselves from participation in cases from their own department/unit. 
• If appropriate, make sure your faculty are aware that streamlined options exist for submitting documentation for third-year post tenure review, annual review, etc. Sometimes all that is needed is an annotated CV. See Guides, Forms, Templates resources.
