2023 Summit for Academic Leaders

Friday, September 15, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ballroom, EMU
Lunch provided 12-1 p.m. in adjacent Gumwood Room

Description

This annual Summit, hosted by the office of the provost, is designed to provide a strong start to the academic year in community with academic unit heads from across campus. We will provide timely updates on campus-wide priorities and do our best to answer your questions as you prepare for your leadership role in 2023-24.

The intended audience includes academic department heads, school heads, associate deans, area directors, program directors, etc., but all interested academic leaders are welcome!

Goals

  1. Ensure academic unit heads have the information they need for a successful start to the 2023-24 academic year.
  2. Provide time for unit heads to dialog with their peers, communicate directly with leadership, and get their questions answered.
  3. Build a community of academic leaders who can learn from and alongside one another toward the goal of building a more inclusive and equitable academic community.
