Sophia Olivares

Peer Mentor, DucksRISE: Sophia Olivares is an upcoming Senior at the University of Oregon and is currently set to major in Journalism and minor in Science Communications and Philosophy. Sophia is currently Director of MEChA — a Latinx organization throughout college campuses meant to empower the Latine community socially and politically since the 1960s — and will serve as Programs Finance Chair in ASUO in addition to working as a Peer Mentor for the DucksRISE program at the UO. 

Sarah Lambert

Academic & Career Advisor (slamber4@uoregon.edu): Sarah Lambert (they/them/elle) has been advising students within Tykeson College and Career Advising since June 2021. After growing up in south Florida, Sarah earned a B.A. in Spanish and Linguistics (2015) from the University of Florida, as well as an M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education (2018) from Miami University with a dual emphasis in Student Development Theory and Diversity, Equity, & Culture.

Sonia Gordillo

Health Professions Advisor (sgordill@uoregon.edu): Sonia Gordillo (she/her/ella) is a Health Professions Advisor within Tykeson College and Career Advising. Sonia received her Bachelors of Arts in Social Work from Portland State University with a double minor in Child and Family Studies and Spanish (2018). In 2019, Sonia received her Masters in Social Work from Pacific University. Sonia is a first-generation Mexican-American from Eugene, Oregon.

Lucy Rojas Henderson

Academic & Career Advisor (lhender4@uoregon.edu): Lucy Rojas Henderson is an advisor within Tykeson College and Career Advising. She is a California native who earned her B.A. in Media Communications with an emphasis in Film Production from Point Loma Nazarene University and her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Bushnell University as a first-generation college student.

Ixchel Verdugo

Multicultural Academic Counselor & Latine/Chicane Retention Specialist (ixchel@uoregon.edu): Ixchel Verdugo (she/her/ella) is the Multicultural Academic Counselor & Latine/Chicane Retention Specialist. She is a double duck with a bachelor’s degree in Educational Foundations and a minor in Ethnic Studies and a Master’s degree from UOTeach in Curriculum and Teaching.
