The table below indicates if earning a Master of Science or PhD School Psychology is deemed to meet the education requirements for candidates to apply for licensure in that State. Both the School Psychology doctoral and master’s (specialist-level) programs are accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists and are approved by the Oregon Teachers Standards and Practices Commission for the educational licensure of school psychologists in the state of Oregon. The doctoral program is also accredited by the American Psychological Association. Please note that this table does not include an evaluation of state specific requirements beyond that of educational and curricular requirements.
Notes by state and territory
Oregon: Our Graduates meet requirements for the PreK-12 School Psychologist license through the Oregon Teacher Standards & Practices Commission and the Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential through NASP.
All other states and territories: Most states provide school psychologists who hold the NCSP credential a streamlined path to obtaining licensure. In many states, those who hold the NCSP automatically qualify for initial licensure or only need to pass a state mandated licensure exam. Please directly contact the licensing board for more information.
