We want to let you know about some changes that you may see when contacting the Office of the Provost. In an effort to better support faculty and staff, and provide information they need to be successful, the Office of the Provost is launching a new website and email address.
August 22, 2018 - The University of Oregon is hosting its first-ever GE Day of Teaching, Wednesday, September 19, 2018. The day will include sessions and workshops designed to provide GEs with additional resources and information related to encouraging students to prepare and participate, manage conflicts with students, and effective teaching practices.
August 22, 2018 - TEP is seeking a graduate student teacher interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning to assist with workshops and initiatives, enhance support of GEs across campus, and support efforts to revise curriculum and teaching evaluation processes. Application review begins Friday, August 31.

June 28, 2018 - I am delighted to share that we have selected Gabe Paquette, professor of history at Johns Hopkins University, as the next dean of the Robert D. Clark Honors College. Gabe is a tremendous scholar, a highly regarded teacher, academician, and mentor. We firmly believe he will bring a passion for undergraduate student success and a deep appreciation for excellence in research and scholarship to this critical role. Please join me in welcoming Gabe Paquette to the University of Oregon.
June 5, 2018 - It is my privilege to announce that Janet Woodruff-Borden has agreed to serve as the next dean of the Graduate School. Janet is an accomplished professor of psychological and brain sciences at the University of Louisville, where she also serves as associate dean for graduate education in the College of Arts and Sciences. Please join me in congratulating Janet Woodruff-Borden. We look forward to her joining us at UO this summer.

May 31, 2018 - It is with great enthusiasm that the provost’s office announces that Ellen Herman, professor of history, has agreed to join the provost’s office as the permanent (no longer interim) vice provost for academic affairs. Ellen will join the office at a 0.5 FTE and focus on promotion and tenure as well as other faculty-specific matters.The office still has a need for the other 0.5 FTE and will launch a search shortly for a 0.5 associate vice provost position.
