TTF COVID-19 impact grants deadline extended to November 22

November 4, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

We write to let you know that we have extended the deadline for the COVID-19 Impact Grants for faculty to November 22, 2020. The Office of the Provost is offering the new grants in response to the pandemic and its impact on faculty. The goal is to support the work done by assistant and associate professors at UO who may be adversely impacted by COVID-related disruptions to their research.

We are providing individual grants up to $5,000 with a view toward encouraging and supporting faculty research, as well as enabling the completion of significant projects to accelerate progress toward promotion.

Priority will be given to (1) assistant professors and (2) associate professors who are within four years of their promotion to the associate rank. Faculty receiving major grants, holding fellowships, or with access to start-up funds in excess of $5,000 to support their research are not eligible.

Applications must include the following materials:

  • A brief (c. 500 words) summary of research/scholarship/creative practice plan
  • A brief (c. 250 words) COVID-related impact statement on this agenda
  • Planned use for the funds
  • A curriculum vitae

Applications should be sent to execviceprovost@uoregon.edu and must be received by November 22. Applicants describing the alignment of their research with institutional priorities—including how their scholarship contributes to diversity, equity, and inclusion—will be given special consideration.

We encourage you or anyone you know who fits the criteria to apply.

Sincerely,

Patrick Phillips
Provost and Senior Vice President
