Anti-Racism talk from IntroDUCKtion

July 15, 2020

Dear UO Colleagues,

Given the important national dialogue currently taking place around racism, I wanted to share a recording of the Anti-Racism presentation I gave to a group of incoming freshmen recently as part of their IntroDUCKtion experience.

My talk was one of 40 being offered over eight weeks beginning in July through the Faculty Perspective program, which gives new students the opportunity to earn a course credit by attending at least 20 talks. Each talk falls into one of these five topic tracks: COVID-19, Anti-Racism, The Environment & Climate Change, Engaged Humanities, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

I am honored to have been able to welcome incoming Ducks by engaging in this discussion with them and to provide a stage for a few of the many faculty that we are fortunate to have with deep expertise and wisdom in this area.

Sincerely,

Patrick Phillips
Provost and Senior Vice President
