Academic Budget Expectations

February 28, 2017 - The University of Oregon faces significant financial challenges, including large operational cost increases, flat state appropriations, financial imbalances in several schools and colleges, market limitations on nonresident tuition, and an unwavering need to enhance our faculty and our excellence. This is the context in which I write to ask for your assistance.

New chief information officer named

February 23, 2017 - It is my sincere pleasure to announce that Jessie Minton will become our new chief information officer on May 1. She joins us from Oregon Health and Science University, where she has served since 2011.

Flexibility for students with travel challenges

January 9, 2017 - Weather hazards and travel problems regionally continue to make it difficult for some students to return to campus and we know that not all returning students will be back in time for classes.

Leadership Office Hours

November 17, 2016 - To continue an open dialogue, members of UO leadership have scheduled open office hours over the next several weeks that are available to students, faculty and staff. These office hours offer opportunities for private conversations about ongoing concerns. While there are no easy answers to the many difficult challenges that we face as a community, leaders are available to listen and learn in order to help our campus find solutions and paths forward.
