Budgeting 101: For New Heads and New Managers

In this session Jamie Moffitt, vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer, will provide participants with an overview of the university budget, major revenue streams, and financial challenges. She will discuss issues related to budgeting at the departmental level, including distinguishing between fixed costs and non-fixed costs and outline how to best use indexes and activity codes to track specific projects and initiatives.

New unit heads and new unit managers are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting. Continuing unit heads and managers, as well as assistant, associate, and divisional deans are also welcome.
