Watching video without sound is increasingly common as parents view lectures while putting the kids to bed and as working students commute on public transit. Captions are especially beneficial for students who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or who experience challenges in processing audio/visual information. We will review Panopto features that enable instructors and students to quickly and easily add closed-captioning to course media. We will also discuss campus resources for fulfilling specific accommodation requests, including non-English captions. Remember to bring your laptop for testing captions in real-time! Prerequisite: In advance of the “Captioning Media” workshop, please download and install Panopto
